Question by camphec63: Wills and Death Benefits is it Public Record.?
My Granddad past away in 1973, he worked for the Rail Road. How could I find out where his death benefit went to whom it may of been given. Also if there was a will at time of death. Would this all be public Record.

Best of my knowlege, I’m insurance, not attorney. Go to the deceased local courthouse, see if you can get the will, then try to find the name of the railroad, start investigating with them as to insurance proceeds.

Looking for birth, death, marriage, land-owning, etc? Where would I have to go (Department of Public Records?) to find this info in Los Angeles?

Link for request of death certificates in Hawaii, I haven’t seen one from there before, but if it’s like all the others I’ve worked with it will state cause of death somewhere on the form.
