The UK’s Ministry of Defence has admitted that electronic records of its soldiers’ day-to-day activities in Afghanistan are routinely wiped from computers. One lawyer has already said it ‘smacks of a cover up’. The disclosures were made at the public inquiry into the death of an Iraqi hotel receptionist. Baha Mousa died from multiple injuries while in the custody of British soldiers in 2003. An MoD statement to the inquiry said there are gaps in the information because IT systems are routinely wiped when returned from operational deployments. Jim Brann from the ‘Stop the War Coalition’ says that ‘cover-ups’ for mishandled operations in Afghanistan may be even worse than those in Iraq. Video Rating: 4 / 5
His family refuses to give me a copy of the death certificate , is it possible for me to take his family to court fo rit Because the county clerks off said i wasnt entitled to it cause we was not married we was just boyfriend and girlfriend but my son has his last name..
It seems my husband didnt die in the USA, it is said the VA notified the government of his death which is listed in the SS death index. He was a 20 year AF veteran and his pension was stopped a month after his death. Someone somewhere must have a copy of his death certificate, the US consulate in the country he died must have been notified or he wouldnt be listed as dead. I have been left to clean up he mess(debts) he left but no one in the government can tell me where he died or give me an idea of where to apply for a death certificate, yet they all know he’s dead. Without a death certificate I can do nothing. The VA seem to think that because of confidentiality issues and the privacy acy they can’t tell me, yet I was married to this man for over 20 years. The Government sent me condolences but tell me no further details of his death are available. The SS death index does not list a state of death. I have been sent running in circles from one agency to the next. I have emailed embassies around the world that I think could help but get nothing. Vital Records expect me to apply to each state and pay a fee for each search, I just do not have the finances for this. To top it off I am being told to apply for benefits on his record, but because I have no death certificate I am told I will have to wait seven years. Does anyone know if I can legally do anything to force these people to give me the means of getting a death certificate. This seems like a government who just dont care about their people. It seems I have to wait seven years to have my dead husband declared dead. Does anyone have any ideas. All I want to do is get on with my life and get this behind me.
