It appears that a little blonde haired girl died in my house or something. My house is somewhere from 70-150 years old. Every time we hear or see something, it is always a little girl with blonde hair. There is a three children graves near my house although only one girl. The tombstone says: Lizzie Shearon. 1902 – 1908. “Blossomed on Earth to Bloom in Heaven”.
I just need to find out FREE local death records and where to find them.

Answer by Troy Death records (certificates) weren’t kept back in 1908 (in NC anyway). They began in 1917 (or somewhere around then). I did a search for that name on Ancestry.com and found Lizzie Benton Shearin who was born in 1902 to James N. Shearin and Agnes. In 1910 they lived in Warren County and she is listed in the household. I don’t know if you have your facts wrong about the death but that’s the only Lizzie I can find (except a black girl, who obviously wouldn’t have had blonde hair.)

To start, you would need to go to “name of state, name of county, (maybe name of city), court records (or death records). Type this into your “search”
I have tried to get some court records and when I get there, it says that there is a charge. (As if nothing is free or done for free anymore)
