Question by coalchamberfan77: What’s a good site for death records?
I need a free site that I can search for a name to get date of death. It needs to be reliable and free. It has to go back to 1966 atleast..if not before

Answer by Shirley T Okay, now understand in the U.S. the release of this information can vary from state to state.
Ancestry.Com has a lot. If you find it too pricey, many public libraries have subscriptions to it you can use for free. I find it is best to go under “Old Search” which is on a bar on the right running across the page toward the top. Then on the right click on Birth, Marriage and Death Records. Then on the next page on the left scroll down and you will see an alphabetical listing of all sorts of records and most listed by states. I know for North Carolina you can view and print off copies of their original death certificates through 1975.
FamilySearch.org has a new pilot program where they are putting their records online. There I was able to view and print off copies of Texas original death certificates through 1976. Very possibly they have other states.

What you have to understand is each state has its own laws about releasing vital records to the public in general because of privacy reasons and the risk of identity theft. Even with a death certificate a widow or widower could be victimized. So most states have a waiting period before they allow things like birth and death info to be released.

Answer by Kimberly Unless someone has posted the information online, you will only get it by purchasing her death certificate.
You might try any of the genealogy sites. Some of them require a paid membership, but most have forums so you might find someone with a membership who can try looking it up for you.
You might also try http://www.familysearch.org/
However, since it’s only been 10 years, you may very likely not find the information posted online. You might also try http://ssdi.rootsweb.ancestry.com/ which is the social security death index.
*HD* I’m so proud of this vid! I was inspired to make this the moment I saw the promo for 2×17. Yes, I killed Blair. At this point, it seems as though Blair dying would be the only thing that would make Chuck come to his senses. I took it to the next level (obviously!), but all I really want is Chair. If you’ve never seen Gossip Girl before, Blair does not die and she was never pregnant. I created this storyline. Most of the events portrayed is this video never happened on the show. ie Blair never ran after Chuck in the pouring rain. If you’ve seen the show, you know what I mean! Video Rating: 4 / 5

The Civil War and Reconstruction (HIST 119) Professor Blight uses Herman Melville’s poem “On the Slain Collegians” to introduce the horrifying slaughter of 1864. The architect of the strategy that would eventually lead to Union victory, but at a staggering human cost, was Ulysses S. Grant, brought East to assume control of all Union armies in 1864. Professor Blight narrates the campaigns of 1864, including the Battles of the Wilderness, Spotsylvania, and Cold Harbor, and the siege of Petersburg. While Robert E. Lee battled Grant to a stalemate in Virginia, however, William Tecumseh Sherman’s Union forces took Atlanta before beginning their March to the Sea, destroying Confederate morale and fighting power from the inside. Professor Blight closes his lecture with a description of the first Memorial Day, celebrated by African Americans in Charleston, SC 1865. 00:00 – Chapter 1.
