Haines City | Deputies said Waddell robbed and fatally shot Jamie Magana Jr., 20, who worked the front counter Friday morning at Video Latino in Haines City. Deputies arrested a second suspect, Jadarius Latra Wilson, 19, in Orlando on Sunday evening. The Haines City teenager is accused of working with Waddell. Waddell was booked into Hillsborough County Jail on charges of robbery and first-degree murder. Detectives questioned Wilson on Sunday and they expected to book him into Polk County Jail on the same charges that night. In 2006, Waddell was arrested in the robbery of the Easy Food Store in Lake Alfred. He was released July 15, short of his six-year prison sentence. In that robbery, detectives suspected Waddell may have been working with a larger group committing a rash of similar crimes in the county. Surveillance video shows two men walking into the store about 9:17 am Detectives said one of them shot and killed Magana, who was behind the store counter. He died at the scene. The video shows a man in a Florida Marlins baseball cap holding Magana in a headlock while another man rifles through a cash register. Detectives say Waddell is the man restraining Magana in the video, and that Waddell pulled the trigger in the shooting. A Polk County grand jury indicted five people on first-degree murder charges Thursday, including suspects in the killing of a Haines City video store clerk. Jacroy Shamar Waddell, 28, and Jadarius Latra Wilson, 19, both of Haines City, each face … Video Rating: 5 / 5

The Virginia State Police are mourning the loss of one of their own. Trooper Adam M. Bowen, 28, of Warsaw, Va., was killed instantly during a two-vehicle traffic crash Friday evening (June 24, 2011) in King George County. At approximately 6:45 pm Friday (June 24, 2011), Trooper Bowen was responding to a call to assist a state police agent. The trooper was traveling westbound on Route 3/Kings Highway. The impact forced the patrol car to run off the road and strike the traffic light pole. The patrol car split in half and the front end continued into a nearby parking lot where it struck three parked cars. Trooper Bowen died at the scene. He was wearing a seat belt. “The tragic and sudden death of Trooper Bowen is a tremendous loss to his Virginia State Police family and King George County,” said Colonel W. Steven Flaherty, Virginia State Police Superintendent. “Our thoughts and prayers are with Adam’s family, friends, and fellow troopers during this difficult time.” The driver and a passenger in the Elantra suffered minor injuries in the crash. They were both transported by ambulance to Mary Washington Hospital in Fredericksburg.
